Kinder Accountants’ Sharon Baker Wins Business Leader of the Year!
What an incredible evening at the Herefordshire Means Business Awards 2025!
I’m absolutely thrilled (and still a little stunned!) to have won Business Leader of the Year. This recognition means so much. Not because of the title, but because it celebrates the way we lead and support each other at Kinder Accountants.
This year feels especially meaningful, not only because we’re celebrating 20 years of Kinder Accountants, but it’s also the first time all three finalists were women. I’m proud (and humbled) to be the first female winner of this category. It’s a wonderful sign of how leadership is evolving: more collaborative, more human, and more inclusive than ever before.
Our values: Be Human, Be Curious, Share Knowledge, Keep it Simple, and Do the Right Thing, are at the heart of everything we do. They shape how we work, support our clients, and nurture our brilliant team.
Over the past 20 years, Kinder Accountants has grown into one of Herefordshire’s most forward-thinking firms, known for our friendly, calm approach and for embracing innovation. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to be recognised nationally as one of Enterprise Nation’s Top 10 Business Advisors, a Xero MVP, and part of the Xero Partner Advisory Council.
We were also proud to sponsor the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, which went to the brilliant Becky Wall BEM of The Loo of the Year Awards — a fantastic and deserving winner who truly embodies entrepreneurial spirit.
One of the most meaningful moments for me came from a comment by my wonderful team member, Rhian Macdonald-Wallace, who wrote:
“You lead with trust, care, and genuine belief in your team. You see potential in people they don’t always see in themselves, and give us the space and confidence to grow. You nurture, challenge, and inspire us.”
That sums up everything I hope to achieve as a leader — helping others to see what they’re capable of, and giving them the confidence to shine.
