Feeling overwhelmed and humbled to have been awarded the COVID19 Hero Accounting Award, at this year’s Accounting Excellence Awards.
If you’ve been following us you’ll know how much we’ve been doing to look after small businesses during such a difficult time. So it really is truly humbling to be recognised for this.
We do this because we genuinely care and understand what you’re going through. One of our Core Values is “Act with Happiness and Love” and this year has been no greater time for us to live into these values.
Here’s a little bit of what we’ve been doing for you.
What the judges said
The judges made reference to our earlier win in the Client Service of the year award in 2017, and said “Pocock utilised these caring techniques to make small business support “something of a personal crusade”
They were impressed by Pocock’s weekly Zoom check-ins, and live Facebook updates which their clients called a “lifeline” and a “comfort blanket”. From the beginning, Pocock cleared her calendar to offer complementary action plans, while the firm triaged the client base to offer more targeted support.
However, the firm’s biggest achievement was recognising that the team’s health and wellbeing must come first. To keep the morale up Sharon sent her team gifts and treats to keep the spirits up and to ensure they felt valued.
What our clients say
We’ve had some lovely comments during this year, and we make sure we share them with the team, which helps us to keep going and keep doing what we do.
“Just wanted to say thanks again for being a super voice of reason and superb constant throughout this all 🙂 It is very much appreciated!” Becca Wild: Photopia Photography
“Sharon has worked so hard to keep all her clients informed and communicating with her team and each other in these very trying times. She has done a tremendous job, swinging into action to decipher what was being sent out from the government right from the very start of Lockdown. Her team are great too.”
She has become a stalwart of the SME community in Herefordshire.” Pam Stevenson: Swimming Pool Solutions
Congratulations to all the finalists and winners
It’s a huge to honour to be included in such an incredible bunch of accountants. Special congratulations to our good friend Sian Kelly of Inform Accounting who won 2 awards, including the Client Care award that we were also finalists in.
For accountants across the globe I think we’re all winners for making it through with everything that’s been thrown at us by Government, and still helping our clients to survive and thrive!
